Family Law Mediation

Choosing a Certified Supreme Court Family Law Mediator will help ease the divorce process.

Natalie Pappas Mescolotto, of NM Legal, P.A., is a certified Florida Supreme Court Family Law Mediator. Family law mediation is an amicable way for you to settle all or some of the issues arising out of your pending divorce.  The cost of mediation is far less than going through the court system. Mediation gives the parties control over the final agreement rather than letting a judge make all of the decisions.  You know your situation better than anyone else.  Why not make all of the decisions for yourself in an informal mediation setting.

Why family law mediation?

Florida law requires each couple going through the divorce process to attend mediation before trial.  The role of the mediator is to look out for the best interest of both parties.  As a mediator, our attorney/mediatior will stay neutral and not pressure either side.  As a  certified Family Law Mediator, she has been trained in the mediation process and has demonstrated competence in this field.  As your mediator, she can meet with the parties whether they are represented by counsel or choosing to represent themselves.

What will we accomplish at mediation?

The goal of family law mediation is to reach a written agreement (Marital Settlement Agreement and Parenting Plan) on all aspects of the divorce, to achieve a fair outcome for both parties and any children, and to avoid misunderstandings or conflicts later. Some of the issues addressed during mediation are as follows:

  • Division of Marital Assets
  • Alimony
  • Child Support
  • Parenting Plan/Timesharing
  • Retirement
  • Anything else unique to your family

As a Family Law Mediator certified by the Florida Supreme Court, our attorney is available to mediate your divorce. We will guide you through the mediation process and work equitably with you and your ex to reach an outcome in spousal support, property division, custody and child support that is fair to each of you and to your children.

Pre-Suit Mediation

A great way to navigate through the divorce process is to retain a family law mediator who will mediate your case and reach an agreement for you and your spouse before you even step foot into the courthouse.
